CARL POLLOCK began his writing career at Caldwell High with the single volume publication of The Intrepid Voice. He completed his M.A. at Idaho State University, followed by a career in employee development and management in both Texas and Idaho. His travels around the globe and love of the Northwest are the main influences in his writings. In addition to books and poetry, Carl also experiments with screenplays, and has mentored several new authors. Blessed with three wonderful sons, Carl, along with his wife, now calls Garden City, Idaho home.

Laura Jenski is the author of dozens of scientific research articles, but she now writes what she loves to read: mystery, suspense, and humor. Laura has a Ph.D. in oncology and postdoctoral training in immunology and is the author of the adult mystery Falling Plaster and the humorous Motorhome Murder Mystery series, Cooked Goose,Spacemen Don’t Camp, Anger Management, and The South Dakota Beech Diet. Her newest book is Eighteenth and Western, a saga of three generations of women fighting for their rights. Laura lives in Boise, Idaho, with her husband, a slightly spoiled rescue dog, and pampered cats. Bonnie Schroeder started telling stories in the Fifth Grade and never stopped. After escaping a lengthy career in Human Resources, she began writing full-time and has authored novels, short stories, screenplays, non-fiction articles, and a newsletter for the American Red Cross. Her published novels are Mending Dreams, Write My Name on the Sky, and Turn Back the Clocks. She is also a registered therapy dog handler and takes her dog Thunder to visit local libraries, where children come and read to Thunder. Other work includes publications from Boom! Studios, King Features Syndicate, Oregon East, Oroboro. Shelfdust, and ZEAL. They received their BFA in Comic Art from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and their MFA in Creative Writing from Eastern Oregon University. At age three, Valerie Varhaug was gliding across the ice in Niagara Falls, New York. Completely taken with the sport, she took lessons, competed, and performed in amateur ice shows throughout childhood. After a surprise move to Texas, Valerie earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. She taught elementary students for over thirty years in public and private schools. Valerie also enjoys travel and time with her family. Skatey Katie is her first book.
Skatey Katie’s story is filled with love: loving playing in snow, sharing a book with a furry friend, respect and admiration for her coach, the joyful love of a beloved pet, the pride and joy of parental love, and love of sport and self!
